Falconry
The falconry facility along Jotunheimvegen stands as the sole restored falconry site in Scandinavia. Through extensive archaeological excavations of the hunting lodge and its surroundings, we’ve faithfully reconstructed the facility to its original state from approximately 300 years ago when it was actively used.
From the summit of “Falkfangarfjellet,” breathtaking vistas unfold, revealing mountains on all sides and mountain lakes dotting the landscape. If fortune favors you, you may even catch a glimpse of falcons and hawks soaring gracefully through the skies.
A leisurely 15-minute stroll along well-marked and groomed trails leads you to the summit. However, if you desire a more extended adventure in the stunning landscape, numerous possibilities abound. Commencing from Kvålssetra, several ancient trails have been meticulously cleared and marked for your exploration.

Fireplace and barbeque at the Lavvo
Within the Skåbu area, we’ve recently added two lavvos and a gapahuk, providing you with ideal spots to seek shelter, take a well-deserved rest, and enjoy your lunch. One of the new lavvos is conveniently situated along the ski trail from Kutjønn to Skardfjellet. Additionally, we already have a lavvo located between Åsen and Breistulen for your convenience.
